Eric Weltner, who has created a documentary about minor-league hockey in Columbus, including a portion of the film on the Columbus Golden Seals of the IHL, sent me these pictures to share with Seals fans (California and Columbus versions). These photos all come from the 1971-72 season in which the junior Seals finished a dreadful 15-55-2, which was actually significantly better than the 10-62-2 record they stumbled to in 1972-73. The club became the Columbus Owls in 1973-74 when Charlie Finley sold it to Al Savill, and the team became an affiliate of the St. Louis Blues.
