Whoa! Creeped out yet?
That is one wicked intense stare! No matter where I’m standing in the room, I can see those eyes staring right back at me, and now I want to crawl under a blanket.
Of course, this is Chris Oddleifson, one-time Seals draft pick from 1970, and unfortunately for him, this is his rookie card. He scored 286 points in 524 NHL games, none of which were played with the Seals because he was traded to Boston with Rich Leduc for Ivan Boldirev. That right there was a pretty good trade for the Seals as Boldirev was one of the most solid, yet underrated players of the 1970s and early 1980s.
Oddleifson’s name is also often brought up in another lopsided trade, one in which the Seals definitely did not come out on top. On May 22, 1970, Frank Selke Jr. traded François Lacombe and the Seals’ 1st round pick in the 1971 Amateur Draft for Montreal’s 1st-round pick in the 1970 draft. That latter pick would turn out to be Oddleifson. The former pick would become Guy Lafleur. Oops!
